#Girlboss

Girlboss is the latest series that I had watched on Netflix.

Since we subscribed, we are actually hooked on series and movies.

Girlboss is based on Sophia Amoruso's best-selling book on how she had built her vintage fashion empire "Nasty Gal".

It was a great series indeed and kind of inspired me to push harder on the online store that I had parked for a long time because of a lot of things.

Here are my top five take-away from the series:

1) Trust your instincts. Follow your passion.

At first, Sophia was struggling to keep a job. She would always leave one and look for another. Living independently away from her dad, she had managed to survived but only from paycheck to paycheck - that is if she gets to keep one. After quitting her job as a Sales Staff in a shoe shop, she spent her remaining dollars on a very cool jacket that she got cheaply and sold it online on eBay finally making almost a whole lot more from what she had originally paid for. In short - she earned money!

Tada!

She had this idea that this might be the thing for her since she is passionate about fashion.

She started off her business from that.

Come to think of it, considering Minimalism, it is quite helpful to buy second hand clothes.

2) There are always ups and downs: in business and life in general. Always bounce back with full force.

Her life is not all party and happiness and so is her business.

She broke up with her almost perfect boyfriend who turned out to have cheated on her.

She was kicked out from eBay.

That did not stop her: she admitted that she has hurt by the breakup and gathered herself still and pushed with her own website's launch.

In a matter of minutes, her items are sold out.

3) Help is always welcome.

We cannot do things alone. We need support and help from people - unless you have super powers.

4) Surround yourself with people who push you up and cheer for you.

We also need people who are always keeping our feet on the ground; people who believes in us; people who always play the Devil's advocate and people who need to kick our b**&6 whenever we are lazy to do things.

I know everybody have these kind of people.

5) The best time to start is now.

If we keep on waiting for the perfect timing, then it will never happen.

I am a firm believer of taking chances, you'll never know what will happen next.

Sophia started out her company from her own flat and the time finally came when she can finally afford an office space.

She would not have known, if she did not start early.

I am positive that I can be my own Girlboss.

I am grateful for my job but also I have been dreaming of managing my own business anytime soon!
