A Korean's Almost Perfect Skin

Have you ever wondered why Koreans have such great skin?

I've been thinking about it lately.

Maybe because I was watching lots of Korean series during the Eid break but honestly, they really do have such great complexion.

I am even thinking if they had experienced having break outs or a pimple at least.

Since we had gone parasailing and swam at the beach, I am a little tan now.

Aside from that, I always have this crazy pimple on my chin especially if I am stressed out or deprived of sleep.

Whiteheads and blackheads are also my concern.

After much research and consideration, I had come up with some tricks to try on:

1) Massage my face with ice at least every other night.

2) Deep clean my face with the masks I got from H&M (they are great! my skin felt so soft and clean).

3) Clean, tone and moisturize at least twice a day (morning and evening).

4) Try to go natural by using lemon and honey mask every one in a while. I've read on the internet that lemon helps to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads as well as pimple scars.

5) Treat my blackheads and whiteheads with tea tree oil.

I have to swear to follow these and check if there will be some changes.

By the way, I got some Garnier products to try on too.

I've tried lots of products and hopefully, this will be a perfect match for my skin.

Well, we'll see in the coming days.

Here's to a clear skin!

Just My Luck.

Will I finally win?
Are you lucky when it comes to raffles and draws?

We had gone to buy some stuffs yesterday at the grocery store and I was so happy when the cashier handed me some coupons for a raffle draw.

The prize? A brand new car!

It's not bad to dream.

I myself have never won a single thing even a small/cheap one.

I am hoping that at least I'll win something even a consolation prize.

A friend of mine is so lucky that every time we have a raffle in the office, it is a guarantee that she will win something.

Hopefully, this time around, I'll win something.

Wish me luck!

A Beautiful Affair

I am looking forward to watch this teleserye.

Since I don't have a TFC subscription, I am relying on the online streams.

When I first saw the commercial for this show, I thought it was a movie.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are the stars so I am not surprised if this will be a big hit, yet again.

It's like a way of saying "Thank You" and to celebrate their 10th year anniversary as a love team.

Most of the scenes are shot in Austria and the views are breath-taking and awesome: makes me wish I am in Austria too! Haha.

What I've noticed is that most of the shows now have this kind of theme.

The first one was "No Other Woman", then "The Mistress" and there's another upcoming movie "A Secret Affair".

They are great actors still and I will definitely be hooked on this show.

Oh, I hope they'll start showing this one soon!

Eid Break - Parasailing at Katara Beach Club

Today is the last day of our Eid break.

We'll all be back to reality starting tomorrow. (Oh no! Hahahaha)

We, my friends from the office, had made the most out of yesterday and had gone to Katara Beach Club.

I have always wanted to try the parasailing there and yesterday was the day when it was fulfilled.

It's at QR 100 per trip and believe me it's worth trying!

We arrived at Katara Beach Club around half past ten o'clock.

It's hot but not that burning hot - I can say it's tolerable.

We just wore knee length shorts and t-shirts as we were wondering if it's even allowed to wear swimsuit there as it is also a cultural village.

Anyways, it took another 30 minutes of waiting as the boat headed off to put in some gas then we geared off and boarded the boat!

Maximum of 10 persons can board the boat then they put on these cables on you.

For the parasailing, you can either go alone or as pairs.

If you are brave enough, you can go alone or you can go with a friend up in the air.

It's scary at first though, but once you are up there, it's heaven!

Imagine riding a swing while hanging on air and enjoying the cool wind and the view of the buildings for almost 20 minutes!

It's just amazing!

Here are some of the photos I snapped during the trip:

Look what I found...Someone is wearing Prada...on the beach!
We rode this one.
Thanks to Mimi for this shot! It's boarding time.
We can do this!
Hello from mid-air!

P. S.

There are other activities to do at Katara Beach Club.

For the full list, you may check this link.

Breaking Dawn Part 2

I am just ecstatic to watch this final film of the Twilight series.

I've got all the books but I was not able to finish the last one and I know I won't be able to do so before the movie starts showing.

Aw, how I wish it's already in theaters!

Are you as excited as I am?

Eid Mubarak Qatar!

Eid Mubarak!

It's a very festive day today.

There are many activities lined up for the Eid celebrations.

There's a fireworks show in Katara.

The parks are open almost the whole day.

There are also programs in the malls.

I've been in Qatar for almost five years and this state has been good to me so far.

It somehow makes me feel safe.

Though it's a small state as I can say, I think there's much to do as long as you have your friends with you!

Here's to more blessings and more successful years here in Doha, my second home!

Fashion and Beauty Finds from H and M

It was two days ago when my good friend and I went to the Landmark Mall to roam around.

We went to some shops and checked the stuffs.

Most of the collections are already for winter.

I love winter!

That's the reason why most of the summer clothes are already on sale.

I've got these fabulous finds from H & M for at least QAR 20.

These shirts can also be worn with a tailored suit jacket.

I would like to pair the shorts with a burgundy/gray colored tights.
Sleeves shirts and a cool pair of shorts

This re-usable bag is a winner and you can get it for only QR 21!

Nice print!

Time for some face masks and these fab variants are just so yummy.

Umm, did I say yummy?

They smell sooo good!

Make sure to drop by H&M and there are many more great finds just in time for the gifting season!

Eid Break - Marriott Getway

Yay!

We have two days off at work for the Eid break.

We'll be back on Monday still.

My friends and I decided to go to Doha Marriott Hotel to go for a quick swim and it was indeed worth it.

The fee is at QR 150 and you can either swim at the beach or at the pool plus they do have a jacuzzi too.

There is a small cafeteria by the pool that serves kebab, burgers, pizza and drinks.

You can also opt to dine in one of the restaurants inside the hotel.

The showers are quite clean, the same goes as well for the changing rooms and lockers.

The staffs are helpful too.

It's quite a relaxing day, worth it I can say and a great way to de-stress.

Sit by the beach and watch the ships
I almost forgot my sandals

We love the jacuzzi!
Sodas
We opted to eat pizza.
We will definitely be back for another quick dip.

Mango Fashion

Yay!

The week is over!

Again, another stressful week in the office and as usual, I am always looking forward to the weekend rest and oversleeping.

I came across the Mango Blog and decided to take my own phota (hahaha!).

I always love the green Sunnies, this blue detailed jacket, black suede pumps, Alice Slim Fit jeans and the cutesy bag from them.

The jacket makes me look a little fleshy as I am skinny (I love my body that I am in whatever it is!).

The fit of their clothes suits me just right.

Looking forward to shop again on the year end sale.

We, girls, do not have to break the bank to be a fashionista.

Their mid-year and year-end sales are the events that I am waiting for to grab most of the stuffs I like and love.

So head to the nearest Mango Shop or check their iPad app :)

Happy Shopping Girls!

Meet Nana

Hello there!

Isn't she cute?

Nana came from a friend.

Her black and grey color are lovely and she's quite a tease.

She would grab Schuester's tail and run after him.

She's only four months old. (Yeah, she acts like she's bigger than Schu! Hahaha)

Hope to post more photos of her soon!

Coffee Shop

Sunday Night is bonding night with the girls.

It's always so nice to have a chat over coffee or dinner or even anything after a long day at work without you noticing the time (haha!).

We had discovered MB, this new coffee shop just along C-Ring Road and on the opposite side of the Holiday Villa Hotel.

It's a new complex with some restaurants and business establishments too.

I had ordered a Frapuccino and Chocolate Cupcake which is freshly baked.

We chose a table outside, under a big, white umbrella (of which I was so scared and kept on thinking that it's going to be blown off by the gentle wind) and watched as the cars passed by.

It's another night well spent and am looking forward to another coffee break!

Pasta Italiano

The best pasta dishes and sauces are still the Italians'.

I was lucky enough to find Jamie Oliver's Spaghetti Sauces range from the grocery store!

I was wondering if they've been there for quite some time and I haven't noticed them or they're just new on the shelves.

Anyways, I was craving for Spaghetti two days ago.

If we have the time and energy, we would normally go to Souq Waqeef and feast on Spaghetti Ala Carbonara or Spaghetti with Jumbo Shrimps at La Dolce Vita.

Since we were both lazy and scared of the traffic, we had decided to cook at home.

And you know, it's one of the best spaghetti sauces that I had ever tried - tastes like the one from the Italian restaurant!

Grab some and try them.

They have a wide range of sauces including Pesto.

You may check Jamie Oliver's website here and check out his other products plus recipes.

Happy Cooking and Eating!

Joana

Ensaymada sa Umaga

Let's eat!

Coffee to wake me up and ensaymada with lots of cheese to start up my day.

See You Soon!

See you soon!

Yay!

I am so excited.

My friend and I are planning a trip to Dubai before Christmas!

Since both of us won't be able to go home for this festive season, we'd like to travel somewhere and we'll be off to Dubai soon!

I would love to go to Ski Dubai, The Ferrari World and visit The Dubai Mall.

I am still checking some more places to go to especially that it will be winter soon.

The past two weeks are really tiring at work.

Describing them as stressful is an understatement.

I badly need a few days rest with no phone calls, no emails, no commercials (umm, distractions I mean).

Dear December, please come earlier!

Xoxo,

Joana

Minis

We hit the grocery store last week and we found some small but good finds.

We got these mini Sprites from Carrefour.

I am not really into drinking soda nowadays but these bottles tricked me with their cuteness.

Good enough for that very cold soda cravings!

Speaking of cravings, this one is for those with a sweet tooth like me: mini chocolate bars from Ritter Sport.

It's like a sample pack of the chocolate types that they do have.

Minis
I love them all!

Which one do you like?

Now, head to the nearest grocery store and grab these yummy cutesies!

Joana
